Mangaluru : The bandh call given by former chief minister and leader of the opposition BS Yeddyurappa in “support of farmers” is unlikely to have much impact in Dakshina Kannada district.
BJP leaders and the district administration suggest businesses will run as usual. However, fewer entities may remain closed in support of the bandh call.
M L Vyshali, additional district deputy commissioner told the district administration had not received any representation in connection with the bandh.
“Bandh in the district in unlikely. We have neither received representation from any political party nor has there been any communication seeking bandh from any source. However, some firms and associations may observe bandh in their personal capacity,” she said.
