Mangaluru : A policeman, who was deputed as gunman for a political leader, was suspended for posing for a selfie with him and posting the same on social media.

Mallikarjun, who was assigned with the duty of serving as gunman for BJP Minority Morcha leader Rahim Uchil, posted a selfie with Uchil on social media. Accordin

g to norms, bodyguards are not supposed pose for photos and get clicked in the company of VIPs where they provide security.

It is alleged that Uchil had left for Dubai in the last week of June. Before leaving, he had taken a selfie in the company of the gunman. Mallikarjun had shared the same on social media platforms.

According to sources, the suspended police personnel also violated another rule by going on leave without seeking permission from higher-ups.

Hanumantharaya, DCP (Law and Order), confirmed the suspension for not adhering to rules.
