Bengaluru: Former chief minister of Karnataka and MP, D V Sadananda Gowda said “Irrigation ventures take long to finish. In any case, water from Yettinahole project is expected to reach the fields within the next one and half years,”
Gowda recalled that he had given his permission for the Yettinahole project, despite the fact that it conflicted with the desires of the people of Malnad district.
“Districts like Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Bengaluru have dedicated people who will grow rich harvests if they get irrigation facilities. This district is notable for high quality vegetables and silk. If the water bodies in this district are filled even once, it can bring about enhancing the underground water table, thus making the land fertile,” he opined.
