Mangaluru: Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has instructed Air India to re-introduce the Mangaluru-Mumbai (IC 1680) and the Mumbai-Mangaluru (IC 1679) flight services from October 1, according to Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament.

The Minister gave the instruction after Mr. Kateel submitted a memorandum to Mr. Prabhu on the issue in Delhi on Wednesday, a release from the office of the Member of Parliament said.

Mr. Kateel apprised the Minister of the need to re-introduce the flight services as both the cities are growing fast.

As both the cities have many industries, hundreds of people travelled between the two.

The MP also urged the Minister to direct Air India to introduce a flight service between Mangaluru and Pune, it said.
