New Delhi: Central Govt employees in 62 departments, in their lakhs, can expect from 2012, more salary depending upon working capacity. They have to achieve the targets fixed or laid out by secretaries and ministries concerned. Each department will evaluate their work in quantity and quality (target –bound) and give marks to each employee to secure more income every month.
At the top level, the target achievers may get 70% is not released the additional income will be zero!
A cabinet secretary- led committee has now finalized the system for application by June 2011, in new economic year.
This has been reiterated by Pay Commissions set up in the last years. The idea is to raise the efficiency level in Govt. services to the corporate levels. But there is no scope for punishing the inefficient here. The penalty they pay is, denial of extra increments to them, for delay in work or inefficiency proved by them.
