New Delhi: AICC leaders have not reacted to the verdict on Godhra. They needed time. The final pronouncement of punishment for the guilty, is due on Feb.25 only.
The Congress leaders still accuse CM Narendra Modi of causing riots and killings, following the Godhra arson by Muslim provocaters in 2002.
Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan refused to comment, until she saw the full report. She tried to fix Modi for the communal revolts after Godhra, saying he had to answer to the charges in public. She avoided the basic point as to who created the fire in Railway bogies in which about 60 Karasevakas (volunteers) returning from Ayodhya were burnt alive.
M.Veerappa Moily refused to react to the verdict. He felt it was too early to react when sufferers had many legal avenues. Other AICC leaders were not forthcoming.
