Mangaluru: Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Palimar Mutt said on Wednesday that the Union government should enact a law for the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
Speaking to presspersons here, the seer said that the people wanted a Ram Temple to be constructed at Ayodhya. Their desire and demand for the Ram Temple should be considered by the Union government. The Centre should get a law passed for this purpose in the Parliament, he said.
Asked why the issue of Ram Temple was raised only when Lok Sabha elections were nearing, the seer said that someone had to bring together the people and their demand. “It is only at a propitious time that such a thing happens. It is only coincidental that the elections are nearing. Whichever government comes to power, my demand for the construction of Ram Temple will remain,” the seer said.
To a query, the seer said that even the Supreme Court might take notice of the public sentiments for the construction of Ram Temple before it delivered a verdict on the issue.
Earlier, inaugurating the Reception Office for the Ram Temple Janagraha public meeting to be held here on December 2, the seer said that people of the Hindu community should dedicate themselves for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya. It was the duty of all people to urge the Union government to construct the Ram Temple.
A nation-wide signature campaign should be held demanding a Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
All members of the Hindu community should sign in the signature campaign. Those who signed would have the satisfaction later of knowing that their signatures were responsible for the construction of the Ram Temple, he said.
All people should participate in the Janagraha meeting to be held here on December 2 seeking the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
