Mangaluru : The Campco Ltd, Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Vivekananda Polytechnic and Dakshina Kannada Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd is jointly organising the fourth edition of Krishi Yantra Mela 2019, from February 23. P P Chaudhary, union minister of state for law and justice will inaugurate the three-day event at Vivekananda campus in Puttur.
Speaking in a press meet held at Mangaluru Campco office Campco president SR Satishchaandra said, the main objective of the event is to introduce innovative machines and latest technology to the farmers. Machine manufacturers and innovators in field of agri-machinery, low-cost house construction and dairy farming will be highlighted at the event. With final preparations for the event in full swing, the organisers have made arrangements thus far for 266 stalls and are gearing up to accommodate footfalls of 2-lakh during the 3-days.
The event will have 154 stalls related to agriculture machinery and dairy farming, 83 stalls related to dream home. In addition, there will be eight stalls for automobiles, four nurseries and as many agriculture-related publishers and seed selling stalls, 20 food stalls and as many commercial stalls. These stalls have been arranged in a manner that visitors are not distracted from purpose for which they have been set up, he said.
DKMUL is building a model cow shed fitted with latest dairy farming machines. A low-cost demo house using pre-fabricated materials will be showcased to create awareness of building such houses. Drone sprayers, carbon fibre sprayers, new drip irrigation machines, latest machines in dairy farming and other innovative machines will be exhibited and demonstrated. Live pottery making, demonstration of drone sprayers will be on display.
There will be two seminars each for three-days on the following topics – backyard farming, value addition in farming, farming as a profession, profitability in dairy farming and low cost housing. Visitors will also get an opportunity to visit Campco chocolate factory from 10am to 4pm on all 3-days and bus arrangements have been made to the factory. Konkodi Padmanabha, former Campco president will preside over the valedictory function.
