Udupi : Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, Deputy Commissioner, and Nisha James, Superintendent of Police, inspected the widening work of the Udupi-Manipal stretch of the NH 169A here on Tuesday.

The Udupi-Manipal stretch is not only being widened but also being concreted by the Department of National Highways.

Ms. Korlapati directed the officers of the Department of National Highways to construct drains by the side of the highway and also to take up road safety measures on the stretch before the commencement of the monsoon.

The Udupi-Manipal stretch is part of NH 169A which connects Malpe in Udupi with Tirthahalli town in Shivamogga district.
