Mangaluru : After five months, who have been stranded in Kuwait without jobs, the manpower consultancy firm in the city agreed to bear the cost of the flight tickets from Kuwait to Mangaluru, said D. Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru City South.
Addressing presspersons here on Friday, the MLA said Manikya Associates, the manpower consultancy firm in the city, which recruited them for a foreign firm through a Mumbai agency has agreed to bring back them from Kuwait to Mangaluru.
Prasad Shetty, of Manikya Associates on friday agreed to bear the cost of travel tickets of 35 youths to Mangaluru,” the MLA said.
Gokuldas Bhat, a non-resident Indian (NRI) from Ujire living in Kuwait, has agreed to bear the cost of some documents required for their safe journey to Mangaluru, out of humanitarian grounds.
The MLA said that Raj Bhandary from Surathkal, who also lives in Kuwait; Tulu organisations; Muslim organisations; and Bharatiya Pravasi Parishat, are now helping the stranded youth in Kuwait by meeting their food and other requirements. Mr. Kamath said that family members of the youths here can heave a sigh of relief as all the 36 persons will return to the city in a few days from now.
