Puttur : A driver with KSRTC’s Dharmasthala depot, freed a cow which had got itself tangled to the rope tethered to its neck and was flailing around desperately.
The act has won him praise from seniors in the department and the public.
A small video clip of the incident that did rounds on WhatsApp earned ChandrashekarGowda wholesome praise from Deepak Kumar, KSRTC’s Puttur divisional controller. Chandrashekar is a regular on the Dharmasthala-Puttur-Bellare route. Deepak told that he too saw the video clip.
The video shows driver Chandrashekar stopping the bus by the roadside and going to the cow’s rescue. Aided by another person, who has not been identified, the driver untangles the rope round the cow’s front legs even as another cow keeps watch a little distance away. Once freed, the cow sprints away to the nearby bushes to enjoy its new found freedom and Chandrashekar makes his way to the bus to resume duty.
“This act by Chandrashekar strengthens our faith in humanity, especially at a time when such values are sadly on the decline,” he said.
