Manjeshwar : Temporary repair work of filling up the pot holes along the Talapady-Mogral national highway started on Wednesday.
The national highway starting from Talapady located on the Karnataka-Kerala border and goes all the way to Kasaragod is over populated with pot holes, while at some places it is akin to ploughed land. This was causing much hindrance to vehicular movement. In this backdrop, emergency repair work has been taken up.
At many places, the road has completely metamorphosed into a drain. Since the situation is like a bit of road found between deep potholes, those travelling in a vehicle feel as if they are floating on a boat besides, the situation is a calling card for danger. Ten buses belonging to the Kerala transport corporation and lying between Mangaluru-Kasaragod have been stopped solely because of the dilapidated condition of the road. A few private buses as well as some auto-rickshaws that take transport schoolchildren have stopped their services as well. This is causing much trouble to the public.
Local representatives of the people have visited and provided essential suggestions and notice for the emergency work.
