Mangalore : Huge number of organization supported Gregory Patrao on the 13th day of the hunger strike held under the guidance of Ronald Coloco, president of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Association and Women’s wing of Catholic Church on June 29, Tuesday.
Speaking at the protestors, Walter Pinto, president of Catholic Sabha, said that the development taking place in the city on the cost of forcibly taking the poor people’s land is not required.
The KIADB, has taken all the taken all the clothes and valuables, during he demolition of the house. They have not even left the dog chains too, he added.
Hayavadhana Upadhyaya, president of Teachers Association of Mangalore University, said that Politicians are taking the land from the poor in the name of development.
He also said that, that the police department and District Commissioner are not listening and understanding the problem of Patrao. The cry of the people from the heart must reach the Chief Minister through DC.
The development which will be built at the cost of throwing Patrao and his family out of his own property is not required, he said.
Fr Anibol Cabriel, Leena Roche, Louis Lobo, Prashanth Jathanna, Johnson Dalmeida, Wilfred, Robin and Godwin Pinto were present at the protest.
