Mangaluru : Minister for Muzrai Kota Srinivasa Poojary said here on Thursday that 1,100 employees of 53 A grade temples in the State will get Sixth Pay Commission pay scale.

There are 191 A grade temples in the State whose annual income exceeded ₹ 25 lakh.

The new pay scale would cover employees of Mandarthi Durgaparameshwari temple in Udupi and Kukke Subrahmanya temple in Dakshina Kannada, he said.

The employees in Kolluru Mookambika temple are already getting salaries under the Sixth Pay Commission pay scale, the Minister said.

The matter pertaining to auctioning the six Yakshagana melas of Kateel Durgaparameshwari temple is before the High Court of Karnataka.

The decision on auctioning them will be taken depending on the judgment of the High Court in a petition before it, he said.
