Mangaluru: The three-day annual fruit and flower show inaugurated at Kadri Park here on Friday, January 24.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath inaugurated the event.
The event is being jointly organised by the district administration, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Department of Horticulture and Siri Horticulture Association.
Flowers, fruits have been displayed in an attractive manner. One of the main attractions of the show was a floral replica of Swami Vivekananda.
Demonstrations on hand and terrace gardening, irrigation system, apiculture, mushroom cultivation will be held during the three-day event. Exhibitions on nursery ownership, farm tools, seeds and fertilisers etc will also be held.
Tickets have been priced at Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children. School children and differently-abled will have free entry.
District Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Deputy director of horticulture department H R Nayak, Zilla panchayat CEO Dr R Selvamani were present on the occasion.
