Mangaluru : International Women’s Day was held at Katipalla Ambedkar Bhavan by JCI Ganeshpura.

Smita P. Holla, zone officer for Empowering Youth and Lady LOM Extension of JCI Zone 15 was the chief guest. Sumana Murthy, teacher of Uppinangadi Ramakunja School was the guest of honor.

As part of Women’s Day, Sumana Murthy trained the members of the Dharmasthala Self Help Group in making homemade phenol dish wash soap. Five women, namely Vimala Devadiga, Vishala Shetty, Sumalatha, Sampawati and Shantha S. Rao, were felicitated for making special contributions to various sectors of society.

Jaycerette Shubha Sarath presided over the program. JCI Ganeshpura president Sharat Kumar, past presidents Vanitha Anchan, Shrisha Karmaran, Uday Kumar, all office bearers and members of Ganeshpura were present.
