Mangalore: The 40th Tulu movie, ‘Kanchilda Baale, was formally released at a function held in Prabhath Theatre on March 25, Friday.
Former MLA Amarnath Shetty, inaugurated the event. While MP Nalin Kumar formally released the movie.
Speaking on the occasion Amarnath Shetty said that although Tulu has a limited audience and market, it made an stand in the regional film history by producing around 39 films and increased the pride of Tulu speaking people with its 40th film ’Kanchilda Baale’.
Director and Producer Kumbra Raghunath Rai said that this was the third film from Kalalabhairava Creations. The Board of Censor Certification had granted “U” (universal) certificate for the film, he said.
Muthappa Rai-founder of Jayakarnataka has played a role in the movie. Shakunthala Shetty- ex MLA Puttur is in the lead role. This movie highlights the son in law custom followed in tulunadu and also about Kambala-the traditional sport.
Comedy actor Navin.D.Padil, Aravind Bolar, D.N.Bolar is all present in this movie. Charithra hedge from udupi has acted as ‘kanchilda Baale’. Charithra Hedge from Udupi has acted as ‘Kanchilda Baale’.
K K Pejavar compered the programme. Raghunath Rai Kumbra proposed vote of thanks. K Suresh Ballal, A J Shetty, Nagaraj Shetty, Rakesh Malli, Kumara Swamy, Shivadwaj, MP Nalin Kumar Katil, Shreekanth Shetty, Moideen Bava Former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Dr. Richard Castelino, Devanand Shetty, Chandrahas Rai and Charitra Hegde (Kanchilda Bale) were also present on the dais.
