Mangalore : As per the government transfer order, Labhu Ram, the new superintendent of police, took over the post on March 28, Monday.
Dr. A. S. Rao, the previous SP, has been transferred to Bangalore. Previously Labhu Ram was in DK underwent field training for a brief period of time in 2006. He was also the in-charge superintendent of police for Udupi and the SP of Hassan. He holds a BSc degree and a diploma in general nursing.
Ram joined the IPS in 2004 after clearing his UPSC examination the previous year. He underwent 10 months of basic training at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad after which he was chosen for the Karnataka cadre and posted to DK to get trained in field policing.
