Mangaluru: A temporary market will be built near the Town Hall at a cost of Rs 5.25 crore to accommodate the vendors of the Central Market who were shifted to the APMC yard at Baikampady.
A new Central Market is to come up after the demolition of the old one at a cost of Rs 115 crore.
The redevelopment of the Market will be by the Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) on a public-private partnership basis. MSCL will be releasing a tender for the same soon.
The temporary structure will have more than 150 shops and about 200 stalls. It could be built in four months.
