Udupi : As many as 27 coronavirus cases were reported in Udupi district in a bulletin released by the health department on Thursday afternoon.
Twenty-one of them have travelled from Maharashtra, three from Telangana and one each from Dubai and Kerala.
Out of the 199 people, 27 were tested positive, out of which 23 from Maharashtra, 3 from Telangana and 1 from Kerala for treatment of KMC hospital. Six of them are men, five are women, and 16 children have been diagnosed with corona virus.
As many as 314 persons are currently in home quarantine. 95 people are in isolation wards, including 10 fresh admissions on Thursday. Among them, six are coronavirus suspect, while two others have SARI and two influenza-like illness.
As many as 556 people have been discharged from isolation wards so far, nine patients discharged on Thursday,
Three have recovered, and 43 are active. The patient from Chitradurga who was tested positive and treated at Dr TMA Pai Hospital in Udupi is being counted as patient of Chitradurga centre thus bringing the total count of positive cases down from 48 to 47 in the district.
