Bengaluru : 101 new COVID-19 cases reported in Karnataka between 5 pm yesterday and 5 pm today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 2283, including 1489 active cases & 44 deaths (2 due to ‘non-COVID19’ cause): State Health Department.
A 12-year-old boy from Vijayapura tested positive for coronavirus taking the day’s tally to 101 cases as on Tuesday, May 26.
The new case happens to be a returnee from Maharashtra.
46 returnees from neighboring Maharashtra, 21 from Tamil Nadu, 13 from Jharkhand, one from Gujarat, four with international travel history from Qatar while 10 cases were contacts of patients already tested positive, two with a history of influenza-like illness (ILI), and one with history of SARI.
The three who were tested positive in Dakshina Kannada are men aged 30, 37, and 30. They had recently returned to Bengaluru from Qatar and were placed under quarantine in Bengaluru.
The day also saw 43 persons being discharged. Till date 748 persons of the 2283 cases confirmed in the state have recovered from the infection.
The state currently has 1489 active cases and recorded 44 coronavirus related deaths.
