Bangalore: An urgent legal notice has been sent to JD-S MP and sate leader HD Kumaraswamy from the Supreme Court on the alleged recommendation he made to permit Iron ore mining in 550 acres in Sandur Taluk (Bellary Dt) near Thimmanagudy region. The SC had demanded his reply to the notice to quickly.
The CM of Karnataka then, HDK had rushed on Oct.6, 2007 to permit iron ore mining in a large area covering several villages of Sandur Taluk, giving rise to suspicious about the need to give consent to such deal in a hurry. What was offered to Sai Venkataramana Minerals Co. in the beginning had been passed on later to an industrialist Vinod Goel under contract.
Officials have pointed their fingers at HDK on this transfer deal. The Mines Dept had make necessary changes under urgent orders of them CM Kumaraswamy. It is alleged that HDK had committed a clandestine selfish deal in this respect.
