Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday that instead of sealing some areas, the entire state capital should be closed for 20 days in view of rising cases of Covid-19.

In a series of tweets, the JD (S) leader said that sealing certain areas would serve no purpose and the weaker sections of the society should be given immediate attention.

“Stop playing with human life. It won’t serve any purpose to seal some areas. If you take care of human life in Bengaluru, shut the city down completely for 20 days. Ales, Bengaluru will become another Brazil. People have more lives. More important than economy, “Kumaraswamy tweeted.

Completing that “declaration” of the relief package by the state Government It was not enough for drivers, weavers, washermen and various other classes, they asked it to immediately deliver groceries to the weaker section and transfer at least 5,000 to 50 lakh workers.
Kumaraswamy tweeted, “The mere announcement of the package will not suffice. It should be implemented immediately. The government should not be fooled by showing a bold picture.”

The Karnataka government on Monday decided to seal five locations in the city from where the highest number of cases of coronovirus have been reported. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa took this decision in a meeting with ministers and officials on Monday.

Yeddyurappa had expressed dissatisfaction with the public about the “misuse” of the waiver after two months of lockdown. He blamed interstate travelers as well as those who violated the quarantine rules.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to initiate police cases against those who violate the mandatory rules to prevent the spread of the disease.

There were 249 new Kovid-19 cases and five fatal attacks in Karnataka on Monday, of which the total number of infections in the state was 9,399 and the death toll rose to 142. Three of the five dead were from Bangalore Urban and one from Ramayana and Ballari.

The districts from which new cases were reported include Bengaluru Urban 126, Kalaburagi 27, Vijaypura 15, Udupi 14, Dakshina Kannada 12, Davangere 9, Uttara Kannada and six in Bagalkot and five each in Bidar and Chikkamagaluru.
