Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada distric reported three more COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, July 4.
The death toll in the district rose to 22 including of two on Saturday.
Late in the night, an elderly woman from Sulia died of the infection. Ske was admitted to the hospital at Mangaluru due to illness and died of heart attack, had turned out positive.
Two corona positive from Kulooru and Kodikal died early this morning at Wenlock Covid Hospital. This includes one woman and another male.
On Friday, July 3 Dakshina Kannada breached the 1000-mark with the biggest single-day leap of 97 coronavirus cases.
The tally of those infected in the district rose to 1,010, excluding 10 cases from other districts. Out of the total cases, 498 cases are presently active while 503 persons have recovered.
