Bangalore: It looks as if a spate of petitions are reaching Karnataka High Court (KHC) to destabilize the only BJP govt. in South India led by CM Yeddyurappa but KHC is quick to issue a “black” stay order for all such petitions seeking enquiry into land scams (denotification, sale or purchase etc.) reported against the CM, so that he could rule the state without anxiety and pressure.
There were 4 other cases made out for enquiry against CM and his family, but Sohan Kumar (son-in-law of CM) in 2 cases, Dhawalgiri properties in one and from Akkamahadevi 1 case sought stay orders on all. The KHC conducted a preliminary enquiry in the whole matter and ordered stay in all the 4 instances against CM.
Sirajin Basha and Balraj of Lion’s Forum went to court with, 5 private complaints blessed by State Governor, but the Lokayukta Court after conducting an enquiry and obtaining statement of witnesses in these cases, asked Lokayukta Court to report back after each complaint being reviewed.
Sohan Kumar took a retaliatory action against the complainants in KHC, questioning the Lokayukta Court order. The KHC stopped all legal action presently in these 5 cases.
The complainants have a retrograde step with this legal attack from CM’s camp.
Meanwhile, Home Minister R.Ashok has also gone to High Court seeking relief in cases relating to denotification, and he also secured a stay order on enquiry for an interim period upto April 5, court sources stated.
