Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district 218 people tested positive for COVID-19 and Udupi district reported 160 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Seven more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK and one death in Udupi on Thursday.
Amongst the seven deceased in DK were, 83 and 73-year-old men and 58-year-old female from Mangaluru, 52-year-old male from Bantwal, 36-year-old male from Davanagere, 69-year-old male from Bhatkal and 52-year-old male from Kerala. As many as 118 patients were discharged from hospital today in DK.
Among the 218 who tested positive in DK, 110 have ILI symptoms, 16 have SARI symptoms, 36 are primary contacts and contacts of 57 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 4,214. As many as 1,862 persons have been discharged and 2,253 cases are currently active. 99 deaths have occurred including seven deaths today.
Udupi district has reported 160 fresh cases on Thursday. Among them, six have travel history to Mumbai, two to Bengaluru, one each to Pune and Mangaluru, 42 have ILI symptoms and four have SARI symptoms. Now, the Udupi has a total of 2,846 cases with 994 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,841 patients recovered and discharged including 65 discharges today. The district has reported 12 COVID-19 fatality including a death of 70-year-old woman today.
