Udupi : Seven years after a murder accused sentenced to life imprisonment for his entire remaining life term.

The chief district and sessions court passed the order to the murdrer of Ranjitha (19), Patel Thota in Kadekar village in Udupi district, on Wednesday September 16.

Yogesh (32) a resident of Patel Thota in Kadekar village sentenced to life imprisonment. The murder had happened wthin the limits of Malpe police station in the year 2013.

Udupi police circle inspector, Maruti G Nayak, had investigated the case after arresting the accusd on Deccember 1, 2013. Charge sheet was filed in the court on February 14, 2014.

Yogesh had stabbed Ranjitha in the back with a knife at around 9.30 am on November 27, 2013 when she was speaking to her friends. Yogesh went absconding, and after three days of manhunt, was arrested on November 30 with the help of the locals.
