Mangaluru : The Governor to intervene in a case of oppression on a private news channel Power TV for airing a sting operation on the alleged corrupt practices of a member of the Chief Minister’s family, urged former MLC Ivan D’Souza
Speaking to reporters at the District Congress Office on September 29, Tuesday, Ivan demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister and alleged that this was the first time in the history of the state that a government had resorted to hate politics in retaliation to allegation of corruption against it.
Recalling how even in the year 2008 Yeddyurappa had lost power over corruption charges, Ivan said the Congress will not let things down and would create awareness against the corrupt practices of the government.
Regarding allegation of irregularities in procuring COVID essentials, Ivan said despite Congress raising the issue in the House, the government has failed to furnish the particulars.
District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai said the government’s act of resorting to action against a TV channel that had exposed corruption was unpardonable and demanded the resignation of the chief minister.
