Mangalore : The body of Girish, Indian Army’s VI Madras Regiment’s young soldier was brought to Mangalore on April 6, Wednesday. The soldier was expired last week while watching the World Cup finals on April 2, According to his colleagues, he went out briefly to check the water pump and collapsed suddenly.
The body was brought to Mangalore Airport at 1:00 p.m. and was taken to the Martyr’s Stand for a guard of honor. A number of army officers paid their final respects, at Girish’s house in Kunjathbail.
Girish is survived by mother, wife Shrikala, and two children Vaishnavi and Nikhil. His family lives in Katipalla.
