Mangaluru : A land surveyor was caught red-handed by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday, while taking Rs 16,500 as a bribe.
MB Gangadhar a surveyor in the revenue department needed to issue a permit to cut a few trees in the premises of an education institution.
According to the ACB, Suhail, a timber wood contractor, had taken a contract to cut a few teak trees at their premises.
He had first approached the forest department for permission, who later wrote to the revenue department to conduct a sketch of the area.
