Mangaluru : The Annual Press Club day held at a moving Cruise on March 21, Sunday.

Shivananda Tagadur, President of Karnataka Working Journalists’ Union inaugurated the celebrations.

On the occasion the Press Club day Award was conferred on Kinnaje Narayana Naik.

Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation conferred the Award at the function held under the aegis of DK District Working Journalists’ Union and Patrika Bhavan Trust. The Cruise travelled from Bokkapatna towards Ullal bridge as the ceremony proceeded.

Kinnaje Narayan Nayak is known for his great help to students in helping them avail scholarships.

Narayan Nayak who spoke after receiving the Award said he would spend the award amount on the scholarship fund by adding an equal amount on his behalf.

Senior journalists Keshav Kunder, Hilary Crasta, K Anand Shetty, Guruvappa Balepuni, Jagannath Shetty Bala, PB Harish Rai, U K Kumarnath and Sudhaker Ermal were felicitated on the occasion.

State Tourism Minister C P Yogeshwar, DK district Journalists’ Union President Srinivas Nayak Indaje, General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala and others were present.
