Mangaluru : Large number of devotees gathered without masks and social distancing at the Brahmakalashotsava celebrations of Someshwar temple at Ullal on Monday April 26 night.

After receiving a complaint, assistant commissioner (AC) Madan Mohan raided the temple premises and sent back the people gathered.

The temple had conducted offertory and new chariot procession violating Covid protocols, three days ago. Hence, the tahsildar had issued a notice to the temple for violation of Covid protocols. According to the complaint of Tahsildar, Epidemic Act case had been filed against the temple.

It is said, despite of complaint, the temple administration continued the programme at the temple.
