Udupi : Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha along with officers  visited the areas which were affected by cyclone Tauktae, on May 16, Sunday.

The DC who visited the Malpe Padukere area which was affected said as many as 36 houses have been damaged in the district due to the cyclone effect. He said the officials have been asked to visit the affected areas and submit a report on loss of property. He said fisheries roads too have been damaged in many places and that electric pols, transformers and electricity lines too have been damaged.

The DC said red alert will remain in the district till Sunday evening while orange alert has been issued for Monday.

Zilla panchayat CEO, Dr Naveen Bhat, tahsildar, Pradeep Kurdekar and other officials were present.
