Mangaluru : City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar on Friday inaugurated ‘Samanvaya’ a platform for coordinating aid to COVID-19 infected and affected in the city.

The city police said that as there are many people and organisations involved in aiding the needy during this crisis such as supplying medical items, providing free food, ambulance service and telemedicine services. There is a need to ensure coordination and seamlessness in their activity. Hence, the department is starting the ‘Samanvaya’ platform to cater to them.

Indians abroad wishing to be involved in such activity can call the number 9480802300 for providing support and materials to any organisation involved in relief work or directly to the person affected by COVID-19.

The NRIs can contact this helpline number through calls, voice messages, SMS, WhatsApp audio, and video messages and can express their grievance.

The local problems will be solved with help of the Samanvaya Covid coordination group. People on complaints of Covid-19 lockdown violation, medicines, and cheating, blackmail cases can contact helpline number 112 or people can contact 9480802321.

Commissioner Shashi Kumar also participated in a webinar during the inauguration of the platform and spoke to several non-resident Indians and noted their suggestions and advice for improving aid and support operations in the city.
