Mangaluru : The Ministry of Railways has allocated Vistadome coaches in the day time train services being operated between Mangaluru & Bengaluru to explore the tourism potential. The Vistadome coaches are being introduced for the first time in South India.
There will be two Vistadome coaches attached in trains operated on each day from either terminals, i.e., Mangaluru Junction and Yesvantpur. In order to popularize the introduction of Vistadom coaches in trains among the passengers, a formal function at limited level will be held at Mangaluru Junction Railway Station at 09.00 hrs. on 11.07.2021(Sunday).
Shri Kota Srinivas Poojari, Hon’ble Minister for Backward Classes Welfare Development, Govt. of Karnataka will be the Chief guest .
Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada, will preside over this function.
Among the dignitaries present for the function will be – Shri Premananda Shetty Hon’ble Mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru and Shri D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Hon’ble M.L.A, Mangaluru City South (Dakshina Kannada) will participate in the function.
Hon’ble dignitaries will flag off the Train No. 06540/06539 Mangaluru Jn – Yesvantpur Express Weekly Special at 09.15 hrs.
Built on the LHB platform for the first time, the stand-out features of the Vistadome coaches include :-
• Bogies with Air-Spring suspension in secondary stage for better ride comfort
