Mangaluru : The Customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport have seized gold worth Rs 70.02 lakh in three separate incidents.
Gold worth nearly Rs 18 lakhs and weighing 322 grams were seized from two passengers who arrived by an Indigo and Air India Express flight on November 9 and 13 respectively. The gold was hidden in beeding rods of trolley bag, watch, ball point pen, steel wool scrubber and hair trimmer.
In the third incident reported on November 18, 857 grams gold worth Rs 51,84,850 was seized from a passenger who had concealed it in Airpods, power adopters and car speakers.
