Mangaluru : Department of Studies and Research in Computer Science, Mangalore University, in collaboration with All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) – AICTE Training and Learning Academy (ATAL), conducted a six-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Deep Learning Techniques for Advancing Medical Image Processing” at Mangalagangothri from November 20th to 25th.
In this inaugural address Andhra Pradesh Guntur Science University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Nagabhushan explained the need for in-depth research into modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning in medical field. Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. Jayaraj Amin, in his presidential address said that the field of medicine and technology are two sides of the same coin. Such valuable programs motivates the youth for quality research.
Program Coordinator, Professor of Computer Science Prof. B.H. Shekhar, explained the objectives of the program. Senior Professor of Computer Science Department Prof. Manjaiah D.H. welcomed the guests. Head of the Department Prof. H.L. Shashirekha extended vote of thanks. University College Mangalore Assistant Professor Dr. Bharathi Pilar mastered the ceremony.
Electronics Department Chairman Prof. A.M Khan, PA Engineering College Vice Principal Dr. Sharmila Kumari were present in the program. The program included lectures by resource persons from IIT Allahabad, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Madras, Yenpoya University, Canada- Toronto University and many software companies along with practical classes and industrial visits.
