Malpe : A retired headmaster who was riding a scooter lost his life after a city bus which suffered a brake failure hit his two-wheeler at Kalmady on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased is Bhasker Suvarna, a resident of Malpe Koppalathota. The bus which was proceeding towards Malpe from Adi Udupi went out of control of the driver after it suffered a brake failure. Suvarna died on the spot.

Malpe police have registered a case.
