Ujire: Success in the competitive world is possible only when one develops a knowledge-based research consciousness by upgrading skills, said Sigma Aldich (Bangalore) Technology and Innovation Director and Head Dr. Ravindra Vikram Singh.
Speaking after inaugurating an orientation programme organised by SDM Post Graduate Centre, Ujire, to welcome the first year students admitted to various departments here at Indraprastha Auditorium on Thursday, he said that The world has changed technologically. Today’s skills need to be renewed. Technology cannot be ignored. Criticism cannot be avoided.
SDM Education Society Secretary Dr Satheeshchandra S said that students should tread the path of achievement with knowledge, competence, logical thinking, skill and rational awareness.
Principal Dr. B A Kumara Hegde, who presided over the programme, said that students should make learning meaningful at the post-graduate level with a sense of extended learning pursuit and practical application.
Vice-principal S N Kakathkar welcomed the guests. Department of Chemistry Associate Professor Dr. Nefisath P and Social Work Department Assistant Professor Swathi B mastered the ceremony. SDM Post Graduate Centre Dean Vishwanath extended vote of thanks.
On this occasion, a special issue of ‘SDM Gazette’, with the report of the Orientation program, by the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of SDM PG Centre was released.
