Mangaluru : The 164th Meeting of the Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Palakkad Division was held on December 19, 2024, at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office.
Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad, presided over the meeting. The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Dr Arun Thomas Kalathikal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Secretary of DRUCC, who also provided a brief overview of the committee’s functioning and achievements of the Palakkad Division through a comprehensive presentation.
The meeting was attended by seven members representing trade bodies, passenger associations, industries, consumer organisations, and representatives of Hon’ble Members of Parliament. The agenda covered a wide range of topics, including stoppages, ticketing facilities, and passenger amenities, with each issue examined in detail. Additionally, the progress of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme within the Palakkad Division was thoroughly reviewed and discussed.
The Divisional Railway Manager assured the members that all suggestions would be carefully evaluated for feasibility, with a commitment to implementing those deemed viable.
The meeting saw active participation from senior officials, including K. Anil Kumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad; Dr. Pradeep D. Chandrashekhar, Chief Medical Superintendent; M. Vasudevan, Senior Divisional Operations Manager; C. Muraleedharan, Senior Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineer; A. Suresh, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer and other branch officials. Their insights and expertise contributed significantly to the success of the deliberations.
