Tawang: CM Dorjee Khnadu and other 4 passengers were located 4 days after their helicopter “Pawan Hans” had clashed on the hillside in remote Lohotang area, with 5 bodies in a mutilated condition and the chopper in its wrecked pieces all over the place on Wednesday, May 4 morning.
Search team spotted both the wreckage and the 5 dead bodies, of CM, a woman, a security guard, and two pilots, around 10am once in the weather had cleared. Forests and mountain ranges were seen around the crash site near Chinese borders. Even to bring these lifeless bodies, it would take 3 to four hours for the rescue teams in such congested region of nature. Rains and heavy snow have been hurdles to the recovery acts.
The ‘Pawan Hans” helicopter carrying 5 persons had taken off last Saturday around 10am to go to Itanagar.
The Arunachal govt. has announced a compensation cash reward of Rs.10 lakhs for locating the wreckage to the rescue teams, at a height of 13,000 feet in the thickly wooded mountains of Arunachal Pradesh state.
