Bangalore: The eagerly awaited SSLC results, primary to all future careers and higher education were out on Thursday, bringing cheers to the large-sclae student community with record positive results.
73.90 per cents of students got through which was higher by at least 10% last year’s results. 44 schools recorded “ZERO” results. One boy and one girl from Bellary scored 620 marks to be at the NO.1 position along with a boy from Hassan to reach the same rank.
Udupi was 6th rank and South Canara district way behind on 21st position. The top 5 were Bangalore (Rural) with 87.43%, Chikkodi (87.01%), Mandya (85.53%), Sirsi 85.30% and Uttar Pradesh (84.75%). Udupi (84.40%), Dakshina Kannada (78.30%), Hassan (81.32%), Kodagu (80.09%), Chickmagalur (78.23%) and Shimoga (77.71%) were fairly successful among 30 districts of the state.
There was jubilant scenery among 100% result fetching schools totaling 1,468, of which 401 were state-run.
Among ‘Zero’ result getters, there were no state-run schools, but 40 were private, and 4 more were aided private schools.
2634 children got 100 marks in Mathematics and 898 students secured 100 marks in Kannada!
Supplementary exams will start from June.15. The results in 2011, have been progressive, or on an increase by 10% or more, over 2010 results.
