Bangalore: CM Yeddyurappa is now swirling waters of politics, with State Governor not signing in favour of a budget session today (Monday) as planned by him, and to the contrary, Governor Hans Raj sending 2 of his officers to New Delhi recommending dismissal of BJP government in a secret letter sent on Sunday (may 15).
CM has taken the Governor’s action as an “affront” against the people of Karnataka pride of an elected government in working majority (121 out of 224), and the mandate given to BJP to rule for 5 years.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Monday morning CM accused the Congress bosses in Delhi of committing anti-constitutional acts aimed at “murder of democracy”, which he vowed he would not allow them to do. He did not leave the Governor alone, but hacked him for his report to Delhi.
The CM announced a Dharna in front of Raj Bhawan in Bangalore at noon along with ministerial colleagues and MLAs he could collect, in order to protest Governor Bhardwaj’s action recommending the dismissal of present BJP rule in Karnataka.
CM criticised the state Governor for not meeting the 10 BJP MLAs cleared by SCI when they went to see the Governor with a letter affirming their continued support to CM and stated that it was an “insult” to the elected representatives by the head of the state.
CM said he was ready to prove his real majority in a Floor test which the Governor holds as secretariat in democracy, but the Governor has over-ruled it by not calling a legislature session. He said he would go to Delhi with a delegation of MPs and MLAs on Monday to meet PM Singh to convey his protest against Governor HRB. There is a cabinet meeting this afternoon, CM added.
