Mangalore: Mangalore City Corporation Mayor Praveen Anchan has said that a special task force has been formed by MCC to respond to emergency situations in the wards during rainy season in the year 2011.
Addressing the press meet held at his chamber on June 1, Wednesday, he said that the special task force, which will function even during the night and Engineer, will supervise the functioning of the task force.
The task force team will work with the support of Mescom, Home Guard, police, and fisheries department and will be led by Assistant Engineers.

He said that as a preparation to rainy season, de-silting of all drainages will be undertaken by the City Corporation.
Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr K N Vijayprakash said that MCC has directed the MESCOM towards electricity supply and maintain the trees on the roads to avoid electricity problem.
MCC has arranged for sky lifters and two cranes ready for Mangalore and Surathkal and two JCB’s belonging to NH authorities and MCC. The reflect tapes will be adopted on the roads in the depth area.
The necessary boats and the swimmers and divers will be provided in case of necessity. The health department will take the necessary measures on the infectious diseases. The doctors of Yenepoya Hopsital will be ready to provide assistance to public service.
The district administration and MCC have taken measures to order the private companies to take measures about the underground wire connection.
