Managalore: The mighty Nethravathi Bridge near Ullal has fallen on its left side, with workers now trying to support it from complete collapse, by help from sand bags.
The bridge broke allegedly due to the dredging work going on at Ullal, as part of the construction of a new bridge over Nethravathi River. There is no damage to the old railway bridge, where two-way traffic is planned to Shoranur.
The bridge collapse had led to mile long traffic rupture, as incoming vehicles cam use only one side of the road now. The engineers have rushed to the spot for inspection, and to set-right the falling bridge. Traffic movement has slowed down near Panemangalore
