Mangalore: Trains running from Karnataka to Maharashtra or vice versa, are cancelled in view of retaining wall collapses between Navsar and Ratnagiri following heavy monsoon rainfalls, causing distress to travelers coming from Bangalore via Mangalore Junction to Pune, or on way Marathwada to Goa and Karwar.
Huge rocks and earth collapses from the high walls on to tracks have rendered train movements impossible but the railway workers are at work on an urgent basis, to remove the earth and stones from the tracks by Monday.
Reservation payments from intending tourists or the travelers going home on either sides, have been refunded. Buses have picked up business fast from Railways, to carry more passengers on the busy routes of Karwar-Goa-Marathwada to Pune.
Certain trains are diverted till JUNE 20 to run on Larger routes from Kerala to Bangalore to reach Mumbai. There is no hurdle on Konkan Railway between Mangalore and Goa upto Vernem.
