Mangalore: Town Hall will be decked up for a show of 5 day cultural programmes in city, as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Mangalore Airport from July 18 for the citizens of DK, Udupi and Kasaragod districts. Sitarama Kulal, former President of State Tulu academy in a press meet here, as President of Airport’s Cultural Fest Committee.
It is the 3rd programme the Committee was holding for competitors, this time from a primary school to the University. The competitions will be in folk dances, dramas, patriotic songs, lyrical (light) songs, and drawing/paintings by the students on 4 days.
A cash prize of Rs. 20,000 awaits the best drama on historical or mythical topics for the winning team, with 5 prizes of Rs. 5000 for each selected “next best” drama, Kulala explained.
The programmes commence at 9.30 am on July 18. Minister Krishna Palemar inaugurates. N Yogish Bhat, deputy speaker, presides. Subhodaya Alva, member and Prabhakar of Fest Committee were present today.
