Belthangady: Rajya Sabha MP and eminent stage activist B. Jaishree (grand-daughter of Gubbi Veeranna) has complained have on Friday that people hang on to the magic shows of cinema and small screen (TV)all the time, but stage provides greater attraction where artistes come through hard training and experience to shine in limelight.
She was addressing a gathering on a Thursday evening at Shantivana Trust Yoga hall, full of trainees. She went on to say that many new faces today keep looking around for opportunities to enter film and television worlds very few bother to work on stage in dramas. But the theatre is a sea where you get down to pick up pearls at a depth, if you have the patience to put up hard work and resist glamour of TV or films, for entertaining people.
She referred to the 106 years old history of Gubbi theatre run by her grand pa-comedian Veeranna, and her own entry there in her 4th year as a stage artiste.
Turning to naturopathy science practiced at the shanthivana in Ujire by Dharmasthala people, she urged them to allow common people to secure treatment in such hospitals, which are in the natural surroundings providing peace, health, and tranquility to patients. Certain modifications in daily activities can bring about reformed new health for body and mind. Such naturopathy centres as shanthivana, are needed all over the state, she said in appreciation of what is being done.
