Hyderabad: 10 districts including Hyderabad as capital come under Telangana(state), for which a two-day shut-down was called o Tuesday and Wednesday so that on 3rd day perhaps the Telang people could write out a poem and sing it on Hyderabad’s filmy streets.
Bus transport has now come to a grinding halt across the new proposed state, with a call from Telangana Joint Action Committee, to force the issue.
The AP-SRTC buses suspended their services in 10 districts and the services connected with Vijayawada, vishakhapatnam and Kurnool cities, besides other towns of Andhra or Rayala seema (Adoni, Kadapa etc.)
No buses in twin cities of Hyderabad-Secunderabad today. As such, Commuters suffered inconvenience at the biggest bus station in the AP state, M.G. station that looked deserted, as 3500 services faced cancellation. Local trains were also canceled as a precautionary measure between the twin cities.
There was total resonse for shutdown (Bundh) in warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar Medak and Adilabad districts, as employees and activists jointly protested in bus depots. Daily Shopping was “arrested” and private Vehicles were stopped from moving about.
Coal production in state-owned Singarns collieries came to a halt, amid protests/strikes. All educational institutions were closed. Ranga university, Osmania an Kakatiya too, had to Cancel examinations due today and tomorrow- July 5 and 6th. That is Telangana going overboard for you, against Delhi.
