Bangalore: The Lokayukta was agonized by the unexpected leakage of his final report on illegal mining activities in state, on Thursday.
Speaking to Press after the leakage in local newspapers, Justice Hegde at his home broke down and said it was painful to know it.
The scribes asked him if it was true that portions of the report were published out of turn, the Lokayukta nodded. He felt that his phones were tapped during conversations since a month. He accused politicians of conspiring against him to withhold the report which was due on Thursday but would be delayed.
In spite of leakage of some portions, the report did not lose any value, he added.
He took the responsibility for whatever that had happened but would not resign prematurely.
